As a cyclist and citizen, I am appalled at this decision. Clearly, two members of this panel had made up their minds before they reviewed a word of evidence. The testing was handled so badly, no reasonable person should be expected to accept the results. If this is allowed to stand, cyclists have more to fear from men in lab coats and suits, than from their competitors or the danger inherent in the sport. The cycling industry should make it clear that, while we will not accept doping, we also will not accept poorly managed testing facilities and kangaroo courts.
I WAS AT THE 2006 TDF AND I RODE WITH THE VIP GROUP “VELOESCHAPE” I WAS WITH MOST OF THE PROS IN THE PRE AND POST RACE EVENTS. WHAT I KNOW OF FLOYD HIMSELF IS THAT ALTHOUGH THE TDF IS THE GREATEST SPORTING EVENT IN THE WORLD IT IS NOTHING COMPARED TO THIS MANS FAITH. ONLY UNTIL FLOYD HIMSELF SAYS ” I AM GUTILTY” WILL I BELIVE IT. I HAVE THE UTMOST FAITH IN FLOYD AND NO TEST OR STATEMENT WILL SHAKE IT. HAPPY TRAILS FLOYD AND I’LL BE PROUD TO RIDE WITH YA ANYTIME GLENN C.
I think this is crap. the French and the other are just mad at the USA for any one of winning there little bike race.
I really hope this will not hold , and all htis will get back to real racing again.
They set him up and knocked him out.
He was given permission to receive a cortizone shot in the hip and then they conveniently left that out as part of the investigation. Most medical outlets found that he didn’t cheat but the lawyers didn’t care.
It was a conspiracy to destroy Floyd’s credibility.
And they wonder why American interest is down in the TDF?
It’s not just the Euro desimating the Dollar.
