Don’t know if I should post this, but I just participated in my first “Spokesmen Industry Roundtable” podcast last Friday morning. I’ve been a big fan of the ‘cast for a long time and it was an honor to be asked to participate, but you know what it’s like to hear your own voice recorded (haven’t listened to it yet myself). That and I probably wasn’t as prepared as I could have been for some of the questions that I should have seen coming. I guess I can blame being sick the two days before that for not being ready with the sound bite answers. No talking points or canned responses from me. No sir.
The roundtable was reduced a bit in participants for this episode and it included only myself, host David Bernstein and regular spokesman Carlton Reid of the trade magazine Bike Biz UK.
Please pardon my long-winded answers during the podcast. All in all, I think I did OK for the first time and David does a great job of keeping things moving along and we discussed some interesting topics.
Now I just need a YouTube video and I’ll be a real Mr. Web 2.0.

Rich – you did a great job on the podcast. I enjoyed your insight on Interbike, but I also really enjoyed and appreciated your comments about cyclist taxes, infrastructure, and the like. I hope you decide to keep participating with the Spokesmen!
Yeah, good show!
You sounded great, Rich. All you Americans sound so smooth and with it. Not prepared? That’s half the beauty of the show, listening to the spanners jamming the works…
Hey, and there will no excuse for you not to be on the Interbike-special show, the one that just may be ‘televised’!
Thanks for all the kind words. I really enjoyed participating and I’m glad that my comments were appreciated.
Carlton – Doesn’t your audio software have the “Smooth” plug-in?
Yeah, good job on the show Rich. You filled in quite nicely for the regulars who were absent.
I can’t wait for the next Spokemen episode from Interbike (even if it is going to be a video podcast). It will be great to hear from some of the other bike bloggers who will be in attendance. Fritz, will you be joining the Spokemen in Vegas? I only wish I were going to be at the show so I could join in the fun.
